Our story

The name just fits.

We are the Downs family — we believe life is an adventure and that miracles are real! We feel so blessed to be the owners of the Lavender Apple Farm. With over 80 apple trees in the orchard, many of which are vintage varieties, along with over 2000 lavender plants across 2 fields, the name "The Lavender Apple" just fits!

John and Hanna Nelson immigrated from Sweden in the early 1900s and purchased a large plot of land at the mouth of a beautiful canyon in Cache Valley. Mike and Peggy Nelson planted the lavender fields after falling in love with lavender while living in France.

In 2021, we became the first generation outside of the Nelson family to own this beautiful land in the high mountains of Utah, and we feel it a great trust and honor to be here.
